With the two first place teams getting upset in Somerville last week, the top four teams are all within one point. The Islanders and Penguins face off on Thursday which means there is sure to be some reshuffling in the standings. The Stingers also kept themselves in the hunt by topping the Rangers.
Similarly in Watertown, the Flames and Kings are knotted at the top of the standings. The tie will likely be broken on Monday night when the teams play each other. The Howitzers put a tally in the W column last Thursday and look to continue the trend this week vs. the Maple Leafs who have dropped their last two.
Of the five games last week, three were won by one goal (or one plus an ENG): Howitzers downed the Islanders 5-4, Stingers eeked out a 4-2 win over the Rangers, and the Flames posted an overtime victory vs District 5.
