Week 19 recap

In Week 19, goalie consistency was the key. No goalie gave up more than 5 goals and the largest gap in any of the games was 2 goals (and that includes empty net goals). Each contest was close and hard-fought. As the week ended, we saw the Islanders and Flames each win to hold onto their first place tie in Watertown, while the Bruins trivially fell 1 game back. The Kings and Rangers ended up tied for 4th in Watertown as well. The Chelmsford standings remained unchanged with Nashville coming from behind to win and Vancouver playing to a cross-over tie vs. the Rangers.

While last week teams generally played teams close in the standings, this week there are some gaps giving teams a chance to earn the upset and make up ground.

Even better, it looks like we’ll have an more mild week weather-wise for a change.

Given the close games, we also saw significant contributions from some players who haven’t been in the POTW spotlight before. We’re going with two players this week. Each had hat tricks to help their teams gain in the standings.
