July 12, 2010 by Ken

In the second game Sunday night coming off the 4th of July break, the Chiefs took the W over the Flames after a hard fought penalty filled contest. This game came down to special teams as the Chiefs scored a PP goal and a pair of shorties while the Flames got 3 PP goals on the night. The game also saw a handful of ejections as the Chiefs and Flames both had players tossed in the 3rd period. The Flames took the early lead in this one going up 3-1 after one period but the Chiefs battled back in the second scoring a pair and tieing the game at 3-3 headed into the third. The Chiefs took the lead early in the 3rd period and half way through the Chiefs took a 2 goal lead but the Flames came right back 90 seconds later cutting the lead to one at 5-4.  The Flames thought they had sent this one at least into OT when Adam Thibault scored with 43 seconds remaing in the game. The Chiefs however had one more answer for the Flames with 16 seconds to play Matt Casserly took a pass from Dave Hage wide open in the slot and buried it for the game winner, Chiefs 6 – Flames 5.

  1. I blame Lou for the Bruins loss. As an admin it is his priority to make sure the league remains balanced and fair so he threw the leafs a bone.

  2. Funny Adam you said it was on you in the post-game interview…

  3. I have been blamed for losses but never for losing games for parity. BTW you had nothing to do with any of the goals against me??
