Bruins take down the Chiefs in a close one, 4-2

June 30, 2010 by Nate

In the first game of Sunday’s double header, the Bruins continued their winning ways, beating the Chiefs by a score of 4-2.  The game saw great goaltending from both Luis Galvao (Bruins) and Dan Notartomaso (Chiefs),  as it was the first time each of them faced their former team after the blockbuster trade which saw them swapped one for one.  The Bruins got on the board first, with 2 goals in 25 seconds, the first from Chris Mamrosh (unassisted) and the second from Ryan Daley (assists: Bryan Werner and Rich Kelly).  The Chiefs got one back with two minute remaining in the first when Dave Hage was able to slip one past Luis Galvao with help from Steve Leach.  The second period saw the goalies turn aside all shots, keeping the score at 2-1 Bruins going into the third.  The Bruins were able to increase their lead at 12:36 of the third when Nate Roy took a pass from Chris Donovan and was able to beat Dan Notartomaso far side.  The score remained 3-1 until 2:15 of the third period when Nate Roy was sent on a breakaway and was able to beat his former goalie again to put the Bruins up by 3.  The Chiefs attempted a late comeback on the goal by Owen Finnegan (assist: Damon Ferranti) at 1:48, but came up short as due to the great effort from Galvao.
