Bruins Extinguish Flames, 10-7
May 11, 2010 by NateIn the battle of the goalies Notartomaso, Dan and the Bruins came out on top over Bill and the Flames. The Flames got the scoring going early when Adam Thibault was able to knock a saucer pass from Ross Bergen out of mid air and past a sprawling Dan Notartomaso. The Blues answered back shortly thereafter with Bruins’ captain Chris Donovan’s scoring his trademark goal in the opening minutes (assists: Nate Roy, Alex Garceau). The game wouldn’t stay tied for long though, the Flames were able to strike with 4:20 remaning when Ross Bergen scored his first of the season from Adam Thibault. The Flames would get one more just under two minutes later when Kyle Stevenson (assists: Dave Ford and Alessandro Colarusso) notched his first of four on the night, putting the score at 3-1 after one.
The second period saw much more offense, starting thirteen seconds in when Bruins’ forward Mark DeGregorio was able to beat Bill Notartomaso on a play set up by Alex Garceau and Peter Radecki. Minutes later, Alex would get his first of of three on the night by striking on the power play with help from Chris Mamrosh and the self proclaimed “debonair defenseman” Dan Agnew. Kyle Stevenson of the Flames would help them answer back when he scored his second of the night a few moments later when he went top shelf on Dan Notartomaso (assist: Adam Thibault). Alex Garceau would match that goal two minutes later when he was able to snipe one off the pipe and in with the assists going to Chris Donovan and Nate Roy. The Bruins would strike again on the power play with 5:09 remaining when Nate Roy was able to just squeak one past Bill Notartomaso with the primary assist going to Mr. debonair himself (Agnew) and Mark DeGregorio. The Flames would tie the game up with two minutes remaining when Kyle Stevenson scored his 3rd goal in a row, with the main assist coming from Adam Thibault again.
In the third, it looked like the Flames were going to run away with the game when the got two goals in fourteen seconds, the first coming when Cory Amorante tipped a Kyle Stevenson shot from the point on the powerplay and the second coming from Mike Thibault with the assist coming from his brother Adam. However, the Bruins would mount their comeback starting at 11:56 when Donovan scored his second of the night from Garceau and Peter Eliopoulos and the second coming just over 30 seconds later when Garceau scored his third of the night with the assist coming from Chris Donovan. The game-winner game at 5:14 when the Bruins’ Peter Eliopoulos knuckled one from the point which was able to find its way through the crowd and into the back of the net (assists: Bryan Werner and Dan Agnew). That would be all Dan Notartomaso would need, as he kept the Flames off the scoresheet for the remainder of the period, even during a late push to tie the game. The Bruins would eventually get two more insurance goals, the first coming from Nate Roy from Peter Radecki and the second coming from Bryan Werner on the empty net, putting the final score at 10-7 Bruins.
