Casserly and Koehler each net a pair as Penguins drop Bruins 7-1

Jim Koehler’s 2 goals and 3 assist effort lifted the Penguins to a 7-1 win over the Bruins. Frank Plati opened the scoring in the game giving the Bruins an early 1-0 lead. Koehler’s first goal of the game for the Penguins tied the game at 1 before the first period came to a close.  The second and third periods belonged to the Penguins. Goalie Glenn McCaffrey shut the door on the B’s in the remaining two periods while the Penguins offense picked up steam.  Ian Dargon gave the Penguins the lead early in the second with what would be the eventual game winning goal.  Matt Casserly scored the first of his two on the night extending the lead to 3-1 and closing the books on the second period. The Penguins pulled away in the third period on goals from Tim Carter, Colin Haviland and Koehler and Casserly each adding another as the Penguins put 4 on the board. Tim Driscoll played well for the B’s in goal making 34 saves.
