Maple Leafs Tame the Wild 6-3
January 19, 2010 by NateIn their second game of the season, the Maple Leafs took down the Wild by a score of 6-3. The game started with a tightly played defensive period seeing no goals or penalties. However, in the second period, the goals came in spades. The Wild started the scoring early in the period when Jim Keck fired one past the Wild’s goaltender Bill Notartomaso. The Leafs answered back with a couple of quick goals by Mike Chateauneuf, Sam Toso, Tim Gardner, and a second by Sam Toso, giving the Leafs a lead they would never relinquish. The wild answered back later in the second when Luke Harris snuck a goal past Leafs’ goalie Matt Lydon. The Leafs finished the period with a goal from Mike Brewster to put the Leafs up 5-2 going into the final frame. The third period saw a goal from each team, with the Wild’s KC Reardon dangling through a few Maple Leafs to score a beauty and the Leafs’ Tim Gardner scoring another pretty goal on a nice pass from Brian Martin.
