We’ll blame the Pats and Saints Monday night football game for the attendance at last night’s contest between Royal and White. Both teams were missing a handful of players and skated 8 on 8. The Royal team took full advantage scoring early and never looking back. Sam Toso started the scoring for Royal but Jim Koehler put the game out of reach scoring the next 5 goals giving Royal a 6-0 lead. Kyle Smith would add one more and Royal led 7-0 going into the third period. Both teams were gassed and searching for their legs before Jim Koehler scored his 6th goal of the game and Royal was up 8-0. But the White team would not go down without a fight as Dave Santiano found himself open in the slot and ripped a shot past Glenn McCaffrey with just 1:04 left to play in the game, breaking up the shutout. Colin Haviland had 6 assists in the game for Royal.
