The contest last night between White and Green got off to a bit of a slow start, as the Green team’s netminder was running late they were forced to burn their time out at the opening face-off in an attempt buy him a little more time. But as the puck dropped the Green team went with 6 skaters as their goaltender wasn’t quite ready. White capitalized too, scoring 4 first period goals on 7 shots with the empty net. The Green skaters made a good effort stopping 3 of the 7 shots fired their way. Halfway through the period and the goaltender finally making his way on the ice, the game was really on and the Green team clawed their way back in it. Down 4-1 when Adam Thibault scored on a great pass from Nate Roy. Alex Garceau would add another with just :13 seconds remaining in the first period closing the gap to just one at 4-3. The two teams fought hard through a penalty filled second period but neither team could push a puck across the goal line and the score remained 4-3 heading into the third period. What seemed to be yet another scoreless period as both goaltenders were shutting down the shooters in the 3rd when Alex Garceau would strike again, with 3:22 remaining in the game he scores for Green tying the game at 4-4. Tim Carter had the answer though for White, with 2:04 left he ripped a shot over the goalies shoulder giving White a 5-4 lead. A minute later Jim Keck would put the nail in the coffin for White as he scored his second of the game putting his team up by the final score of 6-4. Matt Lydon made 30 saves in goal for White.
