Boosted by Jim Koehler’s five goal effort and Colin Haviland’s three assist four point night, Royal defeated Maroon 10-5. Royal is now 4-0 in the young season.

Dan O’Conner of Maroon did his best to keep pace with Koehler, netting four goals of his own. Goals seemed to come in bursts all night long. Both teams traded goals in the early minutes of the game before Royal twice scored pairs of goals less than 30 seconds apart to close out the first period. With a 5-2 lead, Royal locked up the game by scoring five goals in their next nine shots and finished the 2nd period up 10-4.

Maroon never gave up and held Royal off the board in the third. Dan O’Conner tallied the only goal of the period, a power play goal for Maroon with 1:49 left to play. Glenn McCaffrey was once again solid between the pipes for Royal with 30 saves.
